Consulting Manager, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)

Location:

Clearsulting is headquartered in Cleveland, OH, with additional offices located in; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; and Denver, CO. Other cities are also welcome remotely.

Summary:

As a Consulting Manager within our ESG group in our Digital Reporting & Compliance Practice, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive finance management consulting experience. You will help finance and accounting executives at multi-billion-dollar companies solve complex problems, from strategy through execution. You will lead project teams in the delivery of high-quality project outcomes for your clients. This role is fundamental in delivering world-class results for our portfolio of Fortune 500 and Fortune 1,000 clients.

Responsibilities and Required Skills:

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks while setting stakeholder expectations and meeting deadlines
  • Assist in developing executive-level presentations to communicate complex issues and recommendations across processes, systems, and people
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills—strong business-to-business writing skills are a must
  • Willingness to continually take on challenging projects with new or ambiguous subject matter
  • Attention to detail in executing work products with excellent follow-through
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Mastery of Workiva ESG Solution, including WData, Spreadsheets, Documents, Presentations & ESG Program
  • Ability to coach and upskill more junior team members
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Consistently follow all firm policies and guidance
  • Familiarity with ESG Reporting Standards and Frameworks, including but not limited to GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDG, CDP, CSA, ESRS/CSRD
  • Support creation of implementation services proposals
  • Conduct scoping of ESG implementation services
  • Maintain up to date with industry trends and bourgeoning ESG global regulations
  • Keep up to date with new Workiva platform features and delivery certification requirements

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a business-related field of study
  • 6+ years of finance management consulting experience, preferably with significant experience in ESG reporting. A plus if implemented consulting services for Governance, Risk, and Compliance and Financial Reporting
  • Technical competency in Workiva’s environmental, social, and corporate governance solution
  • Experience with multiple full-lifecycle implementations
  • Knowledge of Workiva functionality, development, and data integrations strongly preferred.
  • Experience with System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles, leading practices, and execution a plus (i.e., requirements gathering, solution design and testing cycles)
  • Strong project management experience including workplan creation and updates, milestone tracking, risk management, status updates, change management, and communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; clearly convey complex business concepts to executive audience free of grammatical errors, incorporating leading practices for business writing
  • Strong leadership skills and executive presence
  • Ability to maintain and enhance the Clearsulting culture – build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues, demonstrate the Clearsulting Core Values each day

  • Willingness and ability to travel, as needed
